On a voyage from Liverpool for London with passengers & a general cargo she struck on the Hats & Barrels Rocks, Milford on 3 July 1876. She got off but was found to have water in her hold which was increasing although the pumps were being used. Those aboard took to the boats & stood by the vessel for several hours but South of England foundered off St Ann’s Head on the same day. No lives lost. The vessel & her cargo were insured.
