Bound from the Tyne for Genoa with a cargo of coal Sunshine was sunk in a collision with the steamer Wellfield of West Hartlepool when going to her assistance off the Gulf of Lyons in 41.02N/5.16E on 29 December 1889. No lives were lost. Master F. Muller 1887-89
