On a voyage from Rio de Janeiro for Freetown & the UK with a cargo of iron & a crew of 39 Maroussio Logothetis was torpedoed off Freetown by German submarine (U-105 Jurgen Nissen) & sank in 5.28N/14.28W on 15 May 1943. 2nd officer made prisoner. 27 lives lost.
