Fate

On a voyage from Colastine for Las Palmas with a cargo of grain Coatham was in a collision on 16 March 1898 between Flores Island & Cape Moldonado with the Norwegian steamer Kingswood which was on a voyage from Civita Fecchia to Buenos Ayres in ballast. Coatham sank & Kingswood was badly damaged but made her way to Montevideo. The master of Kingswood was found to blame for the collision.
