Fate

Torpedoed and sunk by the German submarine U-33 (Konrad Gansser), 24 miles south-west of Beachy Head, on April 5th, 1915. The ship was on a voyage from La Goulette to Middlesbrough with a cargo of iron ore. The crew spent over 7 hours in the two lifeboats before being picked up by Belgian steamer Topass. No lives were lost. Master H.A. Sperring.
