Torpedoed by German submarine U-100 (Joachim Schepke) and sunk off the west coast of Ireland on November 22nd, 1940. The ship was on a voyage from Sydney, Nova Scotia, to Belfast with a cargo of 4,500 tons of maize. 39 lives were lost including the Master Robert Greville Vanner.
