This photograph shows Elwick Road  School's cricket team which William Frederick Walker played whist there. He was born at 23 Charterhouse Street, West  Hartlepool  where  his parents William Marshall Walker & Olive Walker lived when he first started teaching in Hartlepool.William was elder brother to Thomas B Walker. Willilam Frederick Walker later became the Principle of a Further Education Collage.

Photograph 9 is of Elwick Road Junior footbal .team who Thomas Barron Walker played for in 1926-1927. He was born in September 1915 at 24 Bangor Street. He is the young lad who is third from the left standing  at the back.

Thomas became a very good rugby player at West Hartlepool Secondary soon getting into the 1st team.When he was called up to the Durham Light Infantry he played for the army when at Aldershot. He was also a cricketer of some note too.He played rugby, football, and cricket at Birmingham Universty in each case for the 1st XI where he graduated with Hons. Degree in physics and diplomas in education and public child health.
