Fate

The British steamship Castleton was sunk by gunfire from the German submarine U-87 (Rudolf Schneider) off north-west France on July 12th, 1917. The ship was on a voyage from La Goulette to Middlesbrough with a cargo of iron ore. No lives were lost. Master I.B. Tose.
