Fate

The steamship Guadalquivir was torpedoed and sunk by the German submarine U-154 (Hermann Gercke), off the Moroccan coast on March 17th, 1918. The ship was on a voyage from New York to Genoa with a cargo of cotton and steel billets. No lives were lost.
