Fate
The Spanish steamship Algorta was captured and sunk by the German submarine U-53 (Hans Rose), 30 miles off Ushant, on January 29th, 1917. The ship was on a voyage from Sagunto to the Tees with a cargo of iron ore. 2 crew were lost.
