Euxine - a general history

Euxine 1855-1861

Voyages: Hartlepool for India.

On a voyage from Alexandria for Liverpool with a cargo of beans on 14 November 1861 Euxine went ashore at Horse Bank at Lytham during a fierce storm with heavy seas. She was taken in tow by the tug Brother Jonathan but the hawser broke & the master refused another although he was warned his vessel was in peril. The following morning Euxine was seen on her beam ends before she disappeared with all aboard.
