Betsey sailed from Hartlepool on 12 March 1864 bound for London with a cargo of coal & foundered off Stockton. The crew left in their boat & were picked up by a London steamer & landed at Hartlepool on 20 March. The vessel was insured with the Robin Hood’s Bay Company.
