Fate

The British steamship Cliftondale was torpedoed and sunk by the German submarine U-35 (Lothar von Arnaud de la Periere), 36 miles east of Cape Tenes, Tunisia, on December 25th, 1917. The ship was on a voyage from Cardiff to Algiers with coal and general cargo. Three crew were lost. Master F.T. Skellern.
