Fate

 On a voyage from Huelva to Rotterdam with a cargo of ore Gertrude grounded in thick fog at Clay Hope, West Bay, Portland, Dorset on 26 August 1894. Her cargo was jettisoned but attempts to free her at high tide were unsuccessful & she became a wreck. Master - F.W. Weeks; Chief officer - John Golding.
