Ceremony at Fish Quay
Donated by Douglas FerridayUnclear what the occasion is but it is attended by what appears to be the Mayor in a top hat. The crowd are both men and women and at least three policemen are present. Fashion suggests that it is possibly prior to World War 1 ? Can anyone shed light on this ? The rolling stock at the back of the picture suggests that it might not have been Hartlepool as one of the wagons has Hull Fish painted on the side of it.

HMS Warspite Luncheon
Donated by Hartlepool Library ServiceDifficult to read the incription on the reverse but it possibly says HMS Waspite Luncheon and the date is 1933. The ship apparently earned the most battle honours of any Royal Navy ship serving in both First and Second World Wars before being scrapped in 1950.
It is assumed that perhaps in 1933, the ship docked in Hartlepool and it appears that there was some type of civic reception in the Borough Hall.
