Arthur James Robinson died in Leith Naval Hospital of an illness while serving on the destroyer HMS Cockatrice. He is buried in the North Cemetery Hartlepool.

Born on 5th May 1896 in West Hartlepool, Arthur Robinson seems to have lived all his life at 11 James Street where his mother Harriet was informed of his death.

He was one of 8 children of Arthur James Robinson of Darleston in Staffordshire and his wife Harriet,nee Chew, who was from Hough Hill in the same county. The couple were married in West Bromwich in 1890 and their first 4 children were born in Darleston. They then moved to Hartlepool where Arthur senior was a blacksmith and the younger 4 children, including Arthur James junior, were born in the town.
