Pink Domino

Details about Pink Domino

Pink Domino in Catcote Road, Hartlepool opened in 1958 and was known as 'The Pink'. It was demolished in 2011-12 and a supermarket is now on the site.

The licence was transferred from the Exchange Vaults in George Street which was demolished. The name Pink Domino is thought  to have come from Lilac Dominoes who were a repertory group who often played at the Gaiety Theatre close to the Exchane Vaults.

Pink Domino was possibly Hartlepool's first 'themed' pub. It was built by local builder Yuill and the interior was elm panelled with pit props facing the counters and cedar canopies above them. This was quite unusual at the time.
