Fate

The Hartlepool-built steamship Escrick was torpedoed and sunk by the German submarine U-90 (Helmut Patzig) in the North Atlantic on 16th August, 1918. The ship was on a voyage from Bordeaux to Montreal in ballast.  Master F.W. Farr.

One crewman was lost, Ernest Arthur Frank, from West Hartlepool.
