Fate

The British steamship Kenilworth sank 3 miles south-west of St. Mathieu Point, Brest, on April 24th, 1917, after striking a mine laid by the German submarine UC-36 (Gustav Buch). The ship was on a voyage from Cardiff to La Pallice with a cargo of patent fuel and benzol. No lives were lost.
