Betty Bradley (sitting behind the boy holding the board), in her Class 4 photograph at Jesmond Road Infants School in 1932. After leaving school Betty had a variety of jobs, including working at a firm of Solicitors in Scarborough Street. Aged 18, Betty successfully passed a typing test with the local railway comapny, and was given an office job in the Goods Building on Mainsforth Terrace.
