With the dissolution of the Hartlepool & Durham Shipping Co an auction was held on 15 April 1851 at the Wheat Sheaf Inn at Hartlepool to sell 12 of their vessels including Thomas Rowell.

7 December 1840 she was the first vessel to enter the new docks at Hartlepool.

Voyages: 30 June 1847 arrived at Quebec from London with one passenger; 1861 Shields for Spain.
