The following notes on dockyard ship movements were made at the time by Mr. Thomas W. Withers, of South Crescent, Hartlepool:

1948 – Virginia – No.1221

Jul 22nd – Attending launch (Jackson Dock)
From Jackson Dock to Swainson Dock
July 30th – From Dockyard to West Quay
Aug. 9th – From West Quay to Drydock
Aug. 10th – From Swainson Dock to Jackson Dock
Aug. 13th – From Dockyard to Irvine’s Quay
Aug. 14th – From Irvine’s Quay to Sunderland
