Horsley - a brief history

Launched on Monday 22nd July 1876 by Mrs John Horsley.

Notes: 27th March 1887 Horsley broke propeller shaft off Rosedale, Yorkshire. S.S .Euclid on voyage from Rochester to Sunderland in ballast took the Horsley in tow & reached Hartlepool on 28th March. Euclid was awarded £350 by Admiralty Court, London for salvage.
 
Owners: Built for E.S.Jobson , remark in register dated 30th August 1876 “George Horsley of 18 Cliff Terrace, 
 
Hartlepool appointed managing owner by letter dated 28th August 1876 under the hand of Ludwig A. Stahle registered 
 
owner of 21 shares.”
